Native support for the active Windows desktop
Use the LanRemoteAssist Agent for an encrypted native support session with visible attended or organization-managed authorization and an active-session indicator.
Normal Remote Desktop and VNC options
Launch Windows Remote Desktop without requiring the LanRemoteAssist Agent, or connect to an existing VNC server when that is the approved protocol for the exact target.
Controlled Agent deployment
When the Agent is absent, an authorized administrator can review the exact resolved target and validated MSI package before installation through Windows administrative channels already permitted by policy.

Windows remote support software FAQ
Does RDP require the LanRemoteAssist Agent?
No. Remote Desktop is a normal independent connection mode and Windows enforces its own RDP authentication, authorization and certificate policy.
Can I use a local Windows administrator?
Yes. Leave Domain empty and the Console qualifies the entered user as an account local to the selected target where the Windows API requires it.
Are connection passwords saved?
No. Windows connection passwords are retained only for the active attempt and are cleared after success, failure, cancellation or timeout.
Does the application change Windows security settings?
No. LanRemoteAssist reports policy or firewall blocks and does not silently weaken Windows security controls.
